The Unofficial Members desired time to consider tho
position and I met them again on the 21st January, Then I was glad to receive their entire concurrence
in the proposal that the construction of the
berdeen schone should be begun at the earliest
possible date.

I may remark at this point that no public notification of this decision has yet been given, order to avoid prejudicing the negotiations now proceeding between the Government and the Cymers of the Paper ills and existing Water Rights at Aberdeen, which it will bo necessary for the
Government to acquire before the work can commence. This work has already received your approval and will be proceeded with at the earliest possible
moment.

The Senior Unofficial Member, at a meeting of the Legislative Council held on the 24th January 1929 moved the following motion :-
That in view of the present precarious
"condition of the water supply, which threatens
to become even more serious in the year 1930,
"it is the unanimous opinion of this Council
that it is imporative that the following works
"be constructed and completed at the earliest
"possible date apart from any other schemes in
"contemplation :-
1. The joining up of the thing Mun Water
System with the Tater System of the
Island of Hong Kong by means of a pipe
line
